The eight miles of golden sands are edged by a belt of sand dunes. The beach forms part of the Pembrey Country Park which has a variety of leisure facilities available. Extensive grassland and forest adjoin the dune system. There are clear panoramic viewsacross Carmarthen Bay to the Gower and Carmarthenshire coast.
